Cartoon Capers - Engaging the Public

egghead small

Communicating scientific research to the public is essential, but how do you make the research interesting, especially to children?

"ScienceSea Sketches" is the brain child of CMBB Research Fellow Dr Seb Hennige and CMBB Alumni and University of Victoria (Canada) Research Associate Dr Lauren McWhinnie - the very talented artist.

Their goal is to communicate the amazing research being undertaken by marine scientists to the general public.  Their scope is limited to Scotland at the moment, with financial support from MASTS and the British Ecological Society.  However, they have their sights set on global recognition!

They are currently involved in Public Engagement activities at the Scottish Seabird Centre  on 10th July and 13th August 2015 - MASTS Touch Tank Days, and have future plans to hold events in collaboration with HW EngageOur Dynamic Earth and Edinburgh Zoo.  Check out our events page for more information on upcoming events.
